Islam

Assalamualaikum...

Hi! You know what, I feel like today is the most productive day everrrrrrrr
opps. hehe. I went to a clinic nearby because my senior was not feeling well, and just now I've done cleaning up my room, organising things, hanging my clothes and etc. Feel so good the fact that everything is done! Happy me! :D

Ok, I would like to share a story that would benefit all of us from a sharing session which I found very encouraging, open up my eyes about Islam, touches my soul and it moves my heart to do good things.

*Bismillahirahmanirrahim.... *
(I hope that I'm able to recall every parts of the story)

Sharing session from : Dr's husband

He was a committed Hindu before he converted into Christian, being the President of Christian Youth in one of the states in Malaysia. He was the ones who responsible to persuade others to convert into Christian.
and amazingly he's now a Muslim....
One day, while cleaning up the Hindu's God Statue, he found a cockroach moving around the statue.
And he was thinking... if God really exist why did He allow the cockroach moving around him? Why he did nothing? The question remained and haunted him for many months and he decided to find the answer.
He went through one of the rituals in Hindu which is walking on fire with bare feet. In enabling them to do that, they are needed to fast for certain amount of days. In other words, there are several steps that need to be accomplished by the ones who wants to undergo the ritual. But.... He did the opposite things in which he prepared nothing for the ritual. When the day came, he said that if God exists he could walk on the fire without having any severe pain and... he succeeded.

*That is actually several events that lead him to convert into Christian*

One day ( he was a Christian at that time), he was being hospitalised because his got an appendix problem. During that time, he was seated beside an Ustaz which he found was busy with his prayer. When the ustaz was about to pray, he helped him to place a *flying carpet* ( he thought that it was a flying carpet for Muslims.. It's actually a sejadah! Hehe!) so that he can pray with ease.

Then, he asked the Ustaz. Sir, why did you pray? You were sick and your God should consider your condition. Then the ustaz replied ; I prayed because my God (Allah) has mercy towards me. I believe that He would help me to undergo this, that's why I performed my prayer. Without him, maybe I have died and was not able to be here. (The event made him wants to know deeper about Islam)

A few days after that, the Ustaz was looking for him and decided to give him Al-Quran. The next day, he decided to read the first sura of the Holy Quran which is Al-Fatihah (The Opener). He immediately cried after that because the lines that are written is very wonderful and beyond his thoughts...

Al-Fatihah (The Opener) tanslations

In the name of Allah, the infinitely Compassionate and Merciful (1)
Praise to be God, Lord of all the worlds (2)
The Compassionate, the Merciful, Ruler of the Day of Reckoning (3)
You alone do we worship, And You alone do we ask for help (4)
Guide us on the staright path (5)
The path of those who have received your grace (6)
not the path of those who have brought down wrath, nor those who wander astray (7)

Amin...

He studied about Islam and now he is a Muslim. He told us that prayer is something personal. It is between ourselves and God. Thus, we should be able to understand the meaning of each sentences or words that we utter during the prayer because it helps us to communicate with Allah effectively. Integration of knowledge is also needed for Muslim as it helps us to know our purpose of living and acknowledge the existence of Allah. For example; when we are about to eat, we should thank Allah for letting us to eat. Simply put, the remembrance of Allah is a non-stop process...

He added, men and women are equal. We should respect each other. There's no such things like women cannot be at the higher position because she was born as a woman. Avoid being prejudice about other religion like Holy Water contains ____. He said that, if ever it's true why they fight others using bombs an nuclear instead of that? It makes sense, right?

During the Islamic Festival at my place, we were introduced to Bible (The Holy Book for Christian)
We analysed the Bible and it's actually comprises of many books... In fact, the programme helps us to differentiate the contents of Al-Quran and also Bible. In our culture, we avoid to read the Holy book from other religions.  Why? Because we afraid that we will get influenced by the Holy Book that we read. We should change the norm! Why? Because it broadens our perspectives and helps us to provide the evidences whenever we encounter a person who pursuade us to change our beliefs...
To be frank, the programme really helps me to broaden my views about religions and strengthen my beliefs in Islam. Alhamdulillah.

I respect the Holy Book from other religions as I know
every religion teaches us to be good towards others...
But what makes Islam differs than others is that... Islam is a complete religion that teaches us in every aspects of life.
