Well, i don't know why...
But there's something that pulls me to be here.. to write at least a few lines.. or perhaps several paragraphs.
I've done watching The Great Gatsby with my friends (fadila, nor, tasha and su) and i do like the story as it tells me a lot about life. (And of course i like the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio acts as 'Gatsby' in the movie. Eheee.. he has changed a lot. (Obviously! As he turns 39years old this year) Well, just forget about that.
The literary elements that i found in the movie are symbolism, feminism, psychoanalytic theory and also Marxism theory. I found a lot of symbolisms that has been portrayed by F.Scott Fitzgerald for instance, a board that has the eyes painting on it.. i personally feel that it symbolises that in everything we do, God will always see us.
Besides that, the green light ( im not sure whether it is actually a green/ blue) but it shows a hope... and in relation to the movie, it signifies gatsby's hope. In the story.. he continuously hope that he would be together with her love, daisy..
In attaining his goal (to be with Daisy), Gatsby does everything... He even held several parties with the hope that he would meet Daisy, built a house which is near to Daisy's house, prepared everything for her.. (hoping that she will come back to him). Fired all his servants and bodyguards to make Daisy feels comfortable... and etc.
Well, sadly at the end of the story... he died alone. And nobody visits him during his funeral. And the one and only visits hin ws Nick (Daisy's cousin). It is sad knowing that the central role died at the end of the story... uhuuu. But it's actually conveying a message that 'love' can destroy everyone's life. Don't you think so?
"Ratio of love. 99% is created between you and God. 1% is created to love a person/everything in this cosmos."
